Of 又是英语中一位罕见的介词，在初中英语中，由of 组成有短语不可胜数了。a map of China 是祖国舆图，但看似简易的of在现实运用中就不-是那么回事了了。依照我多年的总结，of有七大结构用法，不信你也来看看！
1.（a） + 量词 + of +名词
a kind/type/sort 一种/一类．．．．．．
a bit of少许的，一点
a bottle of 一瓶
a glass of 一杯
a piece of 一片（张，块）
a place of interest 胜景 a pair of 一双，一对
a couple of … a series of 一排列…
a waste of 糟蹋
a variety of多种多样，
a (large)number of 许多(装饰可数）
a (large) amount of大量 (装饰不行数)
plenty of 足够的，十分多的(装饰不行数)
a great deal of = a lot of =lots of
all kinds / sorts of 林林总总的
hundreds/thousands/millions of 数百/千/百万
2. be + adj/以前分词 + of+名词
be made up of 由……组成
be proud of 为……而自豪
be fond of 兴趣，喜欢
be tired of 厌恶
be ashamed of 对… 内疚
be jealous of嫉妒
be sure/certain of确信
be short of 欠缺，缺少
be sick of厌倦于
be afraid/ frightened of 怕…
3. 动词 +of ＋名词/代词
die of illness死于病症
dream of a car愿望有一辆小汽车
speak/talk of the accident谈起这个事件
hear of the story听说这个以前经历的事情
think of going home想起回家
speak/think highly of the policeman 高度评价警员
４. 动词＋名词+of +名词
have a good command of English醒目英语
get rid of the drawing去掉画面
make fun of the poor 取笑穷人
take advantage of your friends使用同伴
take care of the old照料暮年人

5. 动词 + sb + of +名词
inform sb of sth通告某人某事
remind sb of sth使某人想起某情形
rob sb of sth抢掠某人的某东-西
warn sb of sth警告某人有某情形
convince/ assure sb of sth 使某人信赖某事
6. be +of + 名词 十分于形容词
be of help fo sb = sth be helpful to sb 对某人有帮-助
be of good/high quality 某物质量好
be of great value = sth be valuable 对有价
be of great importance = sth be very important 对很主要
be of great benefit to sb = sth be beneficial to对某人有利益
be of use to sb = sth be useful for sb 对某人有用
7. 介词+ 名词 + of
at the cost of 以…的价值

on the basis of 在…普遍
